Welcome

Not before time, I have started this blog to more easily update my work as a very amateur historian working on Tasmanian History. I started many years ago looking at my own family history and this has evolved into looking at Tasmanian history in general. I am working predominantly on old cemeteries and maintaining a record of family notices in The Mercury (Hobart) newspaper since 4 May 2020. Starting as a Covid lockdown "activity" I have continued and now have a a database of some 25,000 records and detailing more than 10, 000 individuals. This blog in some way is an attempt by me to be more distant from social media (Facebook). More to enter here as it comes to mind.
